Spring Picnic with our local Seniors

Recently, our West End staff was happy to treat our local seniors to a picnic in the park. Highland Park of Meridian, Mississippi was the location of food, fun, and of course BINGO! Seniors with bingo has a selection of prized to choose from, but nothing beats fun times with friends!

As the school year comes to a close, we are still having fun and learning at the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Mississippi. Here are some of the highlights:

2022 All Staff Conference

The 2022 All Staff Conference was hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Mississippi located in Meridian, Mississippi. Club staff members from all over the state of Mississippi attended for training, food, and fun. 

Staff members had the opportunity to attend classes such as Recruiting and Retaining Teens, Program Basics, SafeServ, just to mention a few. On Wednesday night, club staff was invited to attend a Tik Tok Showcase. 

On Thursday, the guest speakers were Jaiden Joseph, 2022 Mississippi Traditional Youth of the Year, and Jeremiah Dumas, 2022 Mississippi Military Youth of the Year, and on Friday, the Magnolia Chapter held its business meeting. Here are some highlights from the All Staff Conference.

"The Boys & Girls Club has always been considered my home away from home. It has helped me to grow in so many areas in life. While working at the Club, I was inspired to become an educator. I absolutely love working with the kids here and being a part of their story. 

 

I am married to Travaris and we have three beautiful children, Somaya, Soraya, and Travaris Jr. My daughters are both members of the Club and love spending time there. I am happy that they are able to share some of the same experiences as I have growing up in the Club. Honestly there's no other place I'd rather for them to be." -Cierra J. Ball-Williams
